Their motto was Stand up. Stand Out. That’s all it took to get my attention. I was in a moment of my life where I had to make a decision, I had to either believe in my purpose and go for it or find something else to do for the rest of my life. Somehow I thought it was going to be an easy decision, but to actually Stand Up and Stand Out meant getting out of my comfort zone and push my boundaries.
EscalateLIVE 2010 was the first photography conference I ever attended and I’m grateful and happy to say it was life changing. I’m thankful to all the speakers and the organizers because they helped me through my decision process and their lectures took me here. They gave me the inspiration to go after my love for photography and take it seriously, to keep pushing myself to learn, to ask for help.
Last year also was the first time I heard about WPPI and I started dreaming on attending. The fact that I’m just starting the business doesn’t give me much experience to talk about or show in my portfolio, also I don’t have the income to purchase the full registration but I made it my #1 goal for next year.
But guess what? I found WPPI-U specially for emerging photogs! And I’m going!! I just registered yesterday and I’m stocked to be part of this experience. I’ll be keeping record of this event through out the time I’m in Vegas.

Levántate. Destaca. Eso fue todo lo que necesito para captar mi atención. Estaba en un momento de mi vida en el que tenía que tomar una decisión, tenía que creer en mi propósito y luchar para alcanzarlo o tenía que encontrar algo más que hacer por el resto de mi vida. De alguna manera pensé que iba a ser una decisión fácil, pero levantarme y destacar representaba salir de mi comodidad e ir más allá de mis propias limitaciones.
2010 fue la primer conferencia de fotografía a la que iba y hoy estoy agradecida y feliz de decir que fue una experiencia que cambio mi vida. Gracias a todos los conferencistas y organizadores porque realmente me ayudaron durante ese proceso y porque sus enseñanzas me trajeron hoy aquí. Me dieron la inspiración de ir tras mi amor por la fotografía, tomarlo en serio, motivarme para seguir aprendiendo y a pedir ayuda cuando sea necesario.
El año pasado fue también la primera vez que escuche de
y fue ahí cuando empecé a soñar en ir. El hecho de que voy empezando no me da muchos temas de los cuales hablar o mucho que mostrar en mi portafolio, así como tampoco tengo el ingreso para comprar el registro completo pero mi meta #1 para el próximo año es asistir.
Pero que creen? Descubrí
que es especial para los nuevos fotógrafos!! Y voy a ir!! Me acabo de registrar ayer y estoy muy emocionada por ser parte de esta experiencia. Les voy a ir contando sobre lo que sucede durante mi estancia en Las Vegas.
